The National Monument (Tugu Peringatan Negara), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; is located close to Parliament House along Jalan Parlimen and towards the Lake Gardens. It is a great bronze sculpture erected to commemorate the soldiers who gave up their lives in the triumph during World War II and the Emergency (1948-60). It was designed by the famous sculptor, Felix de Weldon, who also designed the Iwo Jima Memorial in Washington. The 15.54 metre high bronze monument depicts seven soldiers symbolising the seven qualities of leadership.Ang and Amel with the monument
