Padang Besar and Padang Bezar Town

Town of Padang Besar, Perlis
Town of Padang Bezar, Thailand
Thursday 27th October 2016
On arrival into Padang Besar Station, we asked around for transportation services to Padang Besar, Perlis and to Padang Bezar, Thailand. One taxi driver quoted us RM20.00 to Padang Bezar Town in Thailand and RM150.00 all the way to Haadyai, Thailand. However, after asking further, the motorbike taxis will take us over the border to Padang Bezar, Thailand for RM6.00 per head. So off we went pillon ride on the motorbike. The plan was to stay the night in Padang Bezar and return back to Shah Alam the day after. However, after surveying the Padang Bezar Town, we realised that there are very few hotels and all shops are closed by 6:00 pm, including food outlets.

So we decided to proceed to Haadyai, where we are familiar with. The motorbike taxis took us to the van terminal (to Haadyai) and off we went. Each van consists of 12 passengers (the van will only go when it is full), so we paid BHT50.00 on the crowded tight space van to Haadyai. The trip from Padang Bezar to Haadyai took almost 1 hour 40 minutes, nevertheless, since it only costs BHT50.00 (equiv to RM6.00) we cannot complain much). Arrived into Haadyai in one piece and went to look for a place to stay the nite. We paid BHT850.00 to stay at Grand Plaza Hatyai. Never stayed here before ... the rooms are a bit small but comfortable, right in the middle of Central Haadyai and sufficient enough for a one night stay.

Had nice dinner by Lee Gardens Hotels including the scrumptious fried Oyster with Egg. Also had 'pulut durian' and 'pulut pauh' before we retired for the night.
